When beta testing Bonus Tools, or trying to resolve a bug, to speed up the process send via weTransfer a zipped folder that can be copied here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins, the BonusTools.bundle.
- Navigate to here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins
- Rename the existing BonusTools.bundle to say BonusTools.bundle.old
This is instead of deleting this folder, and if the below fails, or the beta or bug fix version supplied does not resolve the issue, the BonusTools.bundle.old can be reinstated but simply renaming and removing the .old Copy the BonusTools.bundle supplied via weTransfer to here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins
There is one gotcha, because the files are not installed via an installer the dlls are not correctly registered so you might get this message:
- with the details expanded.
- To fix this issue.
- Close Revit
- Navigate to here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\BonusTools.bundle\Contents\YYYY\KC Tools.dll, where YYYY is the Revit year you are testing.
- Right click and select Properties:
- And tick the Unblock checkbox:
- Reopen Revit and Bonus Tools will load.
