Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools – Import/Export Points.
This tool allows you to Import families to a specified location point.
This Tool is available for Revit 2014 and newer versions of Revit.
- To run the tool, navigate to the Bonus Tools Tab and select Import/Export Points.
- The Import/Export Points dialog will appear.
- Choose either to Export or Import Points.
Export
- Choose the selection set: Current View, Current Selection or Entire Project to filter the Text selection.
- Choose the Base Point: Relative, Survey or Project.
- Select the Category you would like to work with.
- Select an Output file by Clicking on the button at the end of the Output file text box.
- Navigate to and enter a name for the output file.
- Click Ok.
- A confirmation dialog will show confirming the number of exported points.
- View the output file for results.
Import
- Choose the Base Point: Relative, Survey or Project.
- Select the Family and Type you want to import to the given coordinates.
- Select an Input file by Clicking on the button at the end of the Input file text box.
- Navigate to and select an input file.
Note: The file should be formatted X , Y , Z, Rotation (optional)
- Click Ok.
- A confirmation dialog will show confirming the number of points place and the number failed.
- With the dialogs closed, view the imported Families.
Note: The element rotation.
