23 Swap Groups for Families

Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools - Swap Groups for Families.

Swap Groups for Families allows you to swap out unwanted non Company Standard Detail Groups that should be Detail Components or Annotations Symbols or Model Groups that should be Generic Models or Casework.

  1. To run the tool first select either:
    • a Detail Group and a Annotation Symbol or a Detail Group and a Detail Component
    • or a Model Group and a Generic Model or finally a Model Group and a Casework
  2. 23 Swap Groups for Families

  3. Then navigate to the Bonus Tools Tab and select Swap Groups for Families.
  4. Time Saving

  5. The Swap Groups for Families dialog will appear.

  7. Choose the selection set: Current View, Current Selection or Entire Project.
  8. Note: ensure the base points are the same before swapping Groups for Families

  9. Once you click Ok a Confirmation dialog will appear asking if you would like to delete the Groups.
  10. 23 Swap Groups for Families

    1. If you click no then both group and the newly placed Family will exist.
    2. Note: This is a good chance to check the origin points are the same.

    3. If you click yes the Groups will be deleted leaving only the swapped Families.
  11. A second dialog will display the results including the Family names, the Group name and the location points.

    Note: This dialog can be exported to RFT for further analysis.

  13. Once the dialogs are close you can see the modifications that are made.
