43 Place Family Types

Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools – Place Family Types.

This tool allows you to Place workplane based family types in a row within the current view.

This Tool is available for Revit 2012 and newer versions of Revit.

  1. To run the tool, navigate to the Bonus Tools Tab and select Place Family Types.

  3. The Place Family Types dialog will appear.

  5. Choose the selection set: Current file, or Working directory.

  7. If Current file is selected:
    1. Choose the selection set: Current View, Current Selection, or Entire Project.
    2. 43 Place Family Types 00

  8. If Working directory is selected:
    1. Select Include sub-directories if you want to select a parent folder.

    3. Select a Working Directory by Clicking on the button at the end of the Working Directory text box.

    5. Navigate to and select folder as the Working Directory.

  9. Click Ok.

  11. A dialog box will appear confirming the number of Families placed.
  12. 43 Place Family Types 00

  13. An output dialog will list the successfully placed Families.
  14. Note: Those Families not placed are typical Wall Hosted etc.

  15. Check a Ground Floor Level for placed Families.
