48 Location Point

Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools – Location Point.

This tool allows you to add a families location point to a parameter.

This Tool is available for Revit 2014 and newer versions of Revit.

  1. To run the tool, navigate to the Bonus Tools Tab and select Location Point.
  2. 48 Location Point

  3. The Location Point dialog will appear.
  4. 48 Location Point

  5. Choose the selection set: Current View, Current Selection or Entire Project to filter the Text selection.
  6. 48 Location Point

  7. Choose the Base Point: Relative, Survey or Project.

  9. Select the Category you would like to work with.
  10. 48 Location Point

  11. Select Combine into one Parameter if you would like the XYZ in one Parameter or un-tick it so X, Y and Z are assigned to a Parameter each.
  12. 48 Location Point

  13. If Combine into one Parameter is selected.
    1. Select a Parameter
    2. 48 Location Point

  14. If Combine into one Parameter is not selected.
    1. Select a Parameter for X, Y and Z.
    2. 48 Location Point

  15. Click Ok.
  16. 48 Location Point

  17. A confirmation dialog will show displaying the number of location points that were added and the number that failed.
  18. 48 Location Point

    Note: The fails in this instance are Curtain wall doors.

  19. Inspect an Element and see the XYZ coordinate of the element are now in the selected Parameter(s).
