Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools-123 Sub Category Map.

This tool will allow you to Export and Import Category and Sub-Category settings expediating file standardisation.

  1. Find 123 Sub Category Map on a Bonus Tools Tab and select it to run.
  2. Select Export to export settings or Import to import settings/
  3. Exporting

    2. Excel will open.
  4. Modifying the excel file
    1. You modify the contents and import into a Revit file. Below explains how and what to edit. There are 3 primary options
      • New - To add new rows to introduce new Subcategories
      • Delete - To remove unwanted Subcategories. Categories can not be removed. Elements associated to a Deleted Subcategory will re-associate with the Category, as they would if you did this process manually, i.e. if you had a Subcategory Swing on a Door, and deleted the Swing Subcategory all 2 and 3d elements will now be associated with Door, noting with will affect their display.
      • Update - To change: Line Weight ProjectionLine Weight CutLine Colour RLine Colour GLine Colour BLine Pattern, and Material where possible.
    2. Row 1, do not edit or delete, during import Row 1 is used to read the excel file.
    3. Row 1 headings and any specific use causes:
      1. Category Name
        • This can not be updated!!!
        • If adding new please use valid Autodesk Revit Category Names
      2. Subcategory Name
        • This can not be updated!!!
        • Will be "null" for the primary category.
      3. Line Weight Projection

        • -1 where a line weight was not entered
        • 0 NA

        • Note:
