40 Copy Parameter Values

Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools – Copy Parameter Values.

This tool allows you to Copy Parameter Values from one Parameter to another, choosing a parameter from the current element or its host or level.

This Tool is available for Revit 2012 and newer versions of Revit.

1. To run the tool, navigate to the Bonus Tools Tab and select Copy Parameter Values.

3. The Copy Parameter Values dialog will appear.

4. 

5. Choose the selection set: Current View, Current Selection, or Entire Project.

6. 

7. Select the Category you would like to copy Parameters to.

8. 

9. Choose the source Parameter: from the current Element, the Elements Host i.e. Wall, or the Level the Elements resides on.

11. Choose to Replace or append to the existing text: Replace, Prefix or Suffix.

13. Select the From Parameter.

15. Select the To Parameter.

17. You can also manipulate the copied text by:
    1. Replacing the text ABC with new text DEF.

    2. 

    3. Cropping the left n Chars 1.

    4. 

    5. Cropping the right n Chars 1.

    6. 

    7. Crop at position 2 the next n chars 2.

    8. 

    9. Insert before Prefix.

    10. 

    11. Insert after Suffix.

    12. 

    13. Insert at position 5 the next text Middle.

    14. 

        Note: This allows you to modify copied Parameters values. You could copy Door Parameter Name to Door Parameter Name and add a Prefix RM.

18. Click Ok.
19. A dialog will show confirming the results.

21. If you inspect the Elements you will see the Parameters have been copied.
