Welcome to this demonstration on Bonus Tools – Copy Parameter Values.
This tool allows you to Copy Parameter Values from one Parameter to another, choosing a parameter from the current element or its host or level.
This Tool is available for Revit 2012 and newer versions of Revit.
- To run the tool, navigate to the Bonus Tools Tab and select Copy Parameter Values.
- The Copy Parameter Values dialog will appear.
- Choose the selection set: Current View, Current Selection, or Entire Project.
- Select the Category you would like to copy Parameters to.
- Choose the source Parameter: from the current Element, the Elements Host i.e. Wall, or the Level the Elements resides on.
- Choose to Replace or append to the existing text: Replace, Prefix or Suffix.
- Select the From Parameter.
- Select the To Parameter.
- You can also manipulate the copied text by:
- Replacing the text ABC with new text DEF.
- Cropping the left n Chars 1.
- Cropping the right n Chars 1.
- Crop at position 2 the next n chars 2.
- Insert before Prefix.
- Insert after Suffix.
- Insert at position 5 the next text Middle.
Note: This allows you to modify copied Parameters values. You could copy Door Parameter Name to Door Parameter Name and add a Prefix RM.
- Click Ok.
- A dialog will show confirming the results.
- If you inspect the Elements you will see the Parameters have been copied.
